Led By The Blind Biography

Led By The Blind formed in the fall of 2009 in the speck sized small town of Franklinville, NY. The band features members Jake Brodka on Bass, Ryan Sullivan on Vocals, Jamie Ervay on Drums, Jeff Pennachio on Lead Guitar, and Mark Gibbs on Rhythm Guitar. The Alternative Metal music sounds as if Maynard James Keenan joined Parkway Drive, with a nice blend of rhythmic drumming, face-melting guitar shredding, powerful and beautifully melodic vocals, and a darkened twist on popular alternative sound. Initially, only Ryan sang the songs. But during recording, Jamie noticed he had a good voice and began to sing some of the songs as well. Now when the band performs, the audience catches a rare glimpse of a metal band with a singing drummer flailing about the kit. The band is 2 parts Jekyll and 3 parts Hyde. In 2011, less than 2 weeks from recording the album, the band's then guitarist, Justin Pfeiffer, parted ways with the band. While the shoes would be difficult to fill, the band contacted guitarist Jeff Pennachio about learning the songs to join them in the studio. Jeff accepted and surprised the band by his incredible performances on such short notice. The chemistry was good and the band acquired the new guitarist they needed. The band released their debut album "Controversy", which won "Album Of The Year" in WNY Music Awards and features the award winning song "Cut Me Free." The band also won awards for "Best Drummer" and "Best Rock/Metal Band." The 10 track album was recorded for a mere $1,500 at Watchmen Recording Studios and engineered by Doug White. World famous artist Dan Mumford designed the cover art. Led By The Blind was then accepted to Pandora Radio and is now available through many digital providers (iTunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, etc.) In 2012, the band played many high profile performances and released their debut music video for "O#2" which can be seen here: http://youtu.be/ZNlNyw5YiU8 . The video was written, directed, and created by the band's Drummer, Jamie Ervay. Filmed over a weekend on just a $500 budget, the video is creative and visually stimulating and has a dark presence about it. The band has performed alongside the following bands in just over the past year: Suicide Silence (RIP Mitch Lucker) • I See Stars • Belie My Burial • Betraying The Martyrs • Dance Gavin Dance • Winds Of Plague • The Bunny The Bear • Mushroomhead • Attack Attack! • Mychildren Mybride • Battlecross • Just Like Vinyl • Ice Nine Kills • Decoder • A Lot Like Birds • Diecast • Affiance • Attila • The Autumn Offering • Stick To Your Guns • Stray From The Path • Obey The Brave • For The Fallen Dreams • A Skylit Drive • The Word Alive • Make Me Famous • Deception Of A Ghost • Thoughts In Reverse • Dead Ocean • Currents For 2013, the band is planning a new album, a tour, and a new music video. A link to stream the entire album on Spotify is here: http://open.spotify.com/album/4kz6cOd42jHRyf1QQT51wC Most popular songs are: "Cut Me Free", "Halfway Through Town" and "Yellow Spaceship" Alternative Metal.
