Major Lee

Major Lee is an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist/singer/songwriter based out of the Northeastern Ohio area. He has been playing locally for the past year and a half now, and since then has appeared on radio stations such as 91.3 on the Tom Ball show and also got a slot for an interview on Mix 94.1 with Dave Selby. Not only has he got airtime, but in 2010 he earned the title of being the youngest Woodchopper to ever perform the Woodchoppers Ball held every year in Kent Ohio...Major himself getting to share the stage with Neil Jacobs and Kerry Kean on the 10 year anniversary date of the Ball in December of 2010. The stage in previous years has featured artists such as Andy Mckee, Antione DuFour, Stephen Bennet, Don Ross, Shohei Toyoda, Patrick Woods, Brian Henke, and very many others. He has also competed in Winfield Kansas for the International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition this year...the competition taking 40 of the worlds finest guitarists each year to compete and perform on what is considered one of the biggest International Fingerstyle competitions in the world. The biggest thing that sets Major apart from the rest of the players is the style he plays known as laptap or airtap...a style which requires the guitar to be layed in the lap of the player with the strings facing up and being played more like a Dulcimer then a guitar...and Major has even taken it to the level to where he now plays it via 12-string in very unique open tunings that tends to catch the ears of listeners passing by quite well. He also plays covers ranging from Jim Croce and James Taylor, to blink-182 and Green Day...and also instrumental pieces done by Andy Mckee and Pete Barrenger. Major also writes and performs his own original work as well...now having two CDs out for sale, one being a vocal CD entitled "If I Gave In", and the other being an instrumental entitled "Anticipation". Major Lee uses D'Addario strings and owns Martin, Alvarez, and Fender guitars
