Our Man In The Bronze Age Biography

The UK’s Our Man In The Bronze Age began around 2004 as a faceless, doom-laden side project with a revolving door of musicians, spewing forth an unrelenting assault of guitar riffs and intricate instrumental melodies. Their current iteration is somewhat more settled, seeing the three-way guitar assault and dark stage theatrics give way to a more lush sound of sweeping four-part vocal harmonies and deftly played piano sections – the idea being to create a piece of work full of light and dark movements, story-telling and versatile musicianship. A Bronze Age live show is something not to be missed, ranging from one voice and a piano to a full-on two drummer, two guitars and bass heavy battering on the senses, a band of extremes would be a worthy moniker. The band’s musical ethos is one of anything goes as long as it’s good, trying to make the most out of the talents of each member rather than back themselves into a genre corner. This ideology has been fully realised on their debut album, The Gallows Tree, an album that contains both brutal heaviness and subtle melody in equal parts while always managing to flow easily between each extreme. Our Man In The Bronze Age have proven themselves overtime to be a band never to be underestimated, they will continue to push themselves and any audiences’ hearing range in the pursuit of well crafted and memorable music. With the next album already being written, this is a band worth getting on for the ride with as neither they nor anyone else can be truly sure where you’ll end up!
