A Life Once Lost Biography

A Life Once Lost is a five-piece band from Philadelphia. They started as a metalcore band before the scene became huge and after their first album, Open Your Mouth for the Speechless, came out on the indie label Robotic Empire. They then signed to Deathwish Records, (Converge's lead singer Jacob Bannon's label). When A Great Artist came out, they had evolved into a Meshuggah influenced band, still featuring a hardcore bite but with plenty of tempo changes. From there, their influence started to drift more towards metal than hardcore and their 2005 record, Hunter, on Ferret Records (their current label), showed a more a metallic sound with influences from bands such as Pantera and Lamb of God. In fact, Randy Blythe, Lamb of God's singer, taught Bob Meadows how to control his scream. He also did guest vocals on the song "Vulture" from the same album. Since then they have toured with Cephalic Carnage, among others, and were on the second stage of the 2006 Ozzfest. Currently they are finishing work on their forthcoming album, IRON GAG, and preparing for a tour with Norma Jean, The Chariot, and The Handshake Murders
