“The province strikes back”, he whispers before he walks away, leaving foot traces in the mud. His hair glistens in the grayish weather, the steady falling rain dripping off his coat. He turns around and grins. Suddenly, the sky is opening, offering a panoramic view of the city which lies far below. Welcome to the future. This is his Definition of it.
With the epical release of the “Clubtech EP” which is set to become Definition Records biggest success to date, a phenomenal new mix CD called “Clubtech Panorama”, countless new tracks and remixes about to hit the clubs, and appearances in Germany’s most prominent techno events, 2007 is going to be an important year for 27-year old Christian Fischer.
His label Definition Records has set the standards of what there is and what there will be – as part of a new generation of DJs and producers who were born and raised in Germany’s Eastern part, Christian Fischer and his creed of fearless allies combine elements of techno, minimal, electro, house, progressive and trance without prejudice – to create something completely new.
Being a trendsetter whose good taste is his only guideline, Christian always pushes the envelope, technically as well as musically. And it does not look as if the German techno DJ and producer who has set out to conquer the outside world with his eclectic take on clubsounds is going to stop just there…
.:: That Yellow Bastard ::.
It all began with the crazy influence of acid house, Christian Vogel and Sven Vaeth. These important driving forces in electronic music made a lasting impression on young Christian Fischer who should become the most versatile techno export Leipzig city has ever brought forward. Wowed by the DJ’s great ability to whip people into frenzied ecstasy and to take a party to the next level, Christian picked up mixing and producing in 1996.
Ambitiously perfecting his skills, he rapidly grew a reputation as a people’s DJ, making an impact with his courageous “CAM2” productions which saw release on a friend’s imprint, Statik Entertainment. Designed to control the growing epidemic of sound corruption, his tracks managed to capture the attention of the global counterforce, the electronic resistance. Understood in his mission to “bring the people new good music”, Christian set out to travel the planet, his annual tours of countries as far and exotic as Brazil and Ukraine being true highlights for many a reveller.

Possibly the happiest DJ known to man, Christian’s outstanding talent to convince people of his abilities led him to take over the opening and closing slots in two of the most renowned clubs of his region, the Cult and the Distillery, and the main stages of internationally known events such as Mayday and Nature One. Always at the forefront of things, Christian, who is sometimes playing on two, sometimes, when joined by DJ friend and production partner Brazilian scratch techno master Murphy, one of the world’s most celebrated DJs, on four turntables, has become one of Germany’s pioneering XONE 3D DJs, pushing the envelope of what’s technically possible.
Christian, a producer for over ten years now, is renowned for his hybrid and flexible, heavy-hitting yet fragile techno style, reflected in his sets and productions. He has a great musical ability – capturing those elemental moments in club history, he churns out some of the biggest club anthems today. Liquid and intricate, without excessive gestures yet full of feeling, his sound fills gigantic spaces crowded with thrilled freaks spreading out in front of “Monster Teschnö”-playing Fischer who also makes tunes as Men of Noise.
.::The Customer Is Always Right::.
Having had his breakthrough moment with a string of explosive EPs on his own label Definition Records, which, founded in 2000, features well-known artists such as Brian Sanhaji, Justin Berkovi, Ade Fenton, Rino Cerrone, Tuomas Rantanen, DJ Lucca, Thomas P. Heckmann und David Squillace, as well as DJ Murphy and chart-storming UK über breakers Hybrid, and successful releases on labels such as Toneman, Hertz, Six, Ignition, Mini Sketch, Sayas and Whirlpoolsex Music, Christian is redefining his definition of good sound, again and again.
And right bang boom in the centre of the universe is Christian himself – sometimes together with Murphy and Lucca, sometimes remixed by friends like Elton D and Super Flu – creating colourful and multi-faceted soundtrips. Courageously refining his maximal minimal style, Christian is fusing the giant moments of dance with the purest, raciest ecstasy of underground, lavishly blurring the boundaries between past and present. Christian creates his „Clubtech Panorama“. Recently published on ZYX, this DJ mix compilation is bound to set the standards of things to come.

Now, five years after his first “Global Control” tour, which, with its crazy designs and sounds, attracted the attention of a global audience, Christian, striving to see the world with his own eyes, has finally arrived where he longs to be: on top of things, in his native Leipzig, the city of sin. The place where he does not only find support and nourishment from the rich underground movement he is connected to, but also a stable base for his next activities: To produce even more clubhits that can transcend the boundaries of what is and what can be.
Living for these moments of total clarity, he is pushing as hard as he can to reach an insight, offering himself as a mediator by placing himself in the centre of things. Living the sound he plays and makes, Christian, with everything he creates, is inviting us to a club in which he parties himself. With “Clubtech Panorama” he opened a window to his soul, a world of distinctive sounds that do not only make up an electrifying ride full of surprises, but also serves as a showcase for the new exiting developments in the Eastern part of Germany… And now, after attracting the attention, he is diverting it again to share the limelight with others.
