Chris Black

Steeped in folk, rock, and classical music, Cleveland-based singer/songwriter Christopher Black has led a varied career that has seen him as a solo opener for artists such as The Black Keys, Minus the Bear, and Current Swell, in addition to appearances on stage as a violinist at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts & MidPoint Music festivals. Over the past few years, he's played solo shows at Cleveland's Brite Winter Fest, Burning River Fest, and Larchmere Porchfest. After a brief hiatus from music to recharge, Black is back in the studio recording what will be his debut full-length album, due out in January 2017. Older EPs (Live in Harkness, EP) focused more on a softer, string-based sound, but Black has pivoted towards a fuller sound replete with electric guitars and horns that pays homage to Van Morrison, Glen Hansard, Bruce Springsteen, and Jason Isbell.
