The Bears' sound was born in a small fisherman's shack by a river in suburban Sydney, where for 12 months the band shared three bedrooms and a couch (one of them even sleeping under a coffee table!) with the sole aim of creating music. Writing, jamming and recording, and compiling an eclectic range of instruments – cajon, djembe, mandolin, ukulele, keyboards and more – the band cultivated a soundscape that’s equal parts rock, pop and folk. The band's journey has taken them extensively around Australia and abroad, from supporting the iconic Icehouse on their east coast leg, to playing Rhythm & Vines and appearing in the ‘100% Pure New Zealand’ campaign. The hard working live act love performing, sharing their music with their fans, and maintain a busy schedule of live gigs around Australia. Bears With Guns debut EP Taken For A Fool featured the lead title single produced by multi ARIA Award-winner Wayne Connolly, whose production credits include The Vines, Josh Pyke and Sarah Blasko. Wayne also recorded and mixed tracks on The Bears' follow up EP Only The Quick and the Hungry along with producer and ex Thirsty Merc guitarist Sean Carey.
