Eytan & The Embassy Biography

Brooklyn band Eytan and The Embassy just released their catchy, beat-heavy single “Weekend Warrior," the first song from an EP to be released this summer. Perfect for fans of bands like Foster The People and Fitz and The Tantrums, the track is already a favorite among music supervisors and was featured in recent episodes of “Vampire Diaries” and ABC’s “Trophy Wife.” The song takes a playful autobiographical journey through the experience of becoming “YouTube famous” while working a day job—something the band experienced first-hand with its last music video “Everything Changes,” which was shared by celebrities like Deadmau5, Neil Patrick Harris, “Weird” Al Yankovic, Ryan Seacrest, and OK Go. “We were on the homepage of CNN for two days next to news about Syria, which was bizarre,” says singer Eytan Oren. “Ultimately the song is about not taking yourself or fleeting success too seriously, and just finding happiness in the people and things you love most.” Oren, who previously perfected his piano-playing chops as a sideman for artists like Nicole Atkins, is joined by The Embassy—comprised of bari saxophonist Geoff Countryman (a regularly performer on SNL), Caitlin Gray on bass, Anthony Rubbo on guitar, and Matt Rullo on drums. The band’s upcoming EP sees the group branching out from the indie soul sound of its debut record to incorporate traditional Chinese instruments as well as electronic elements. Eytan is pronounced like "Akon" with a "T" and Embassy is pronounced like "Embassy." http://www.eytanandtheembassy.com/
