Cities Under Fire Biography
Cities Under Fire formed in 2009 as a collaboration between brothers Andrew and Jardeth Hemmerling and songwriter David Millar. Bronson Hemmerling was added on bass in 2011. With their debut release of Lukewarm Love, the band began to tour extensively across Canada and the U.S. The album was very well received, with several award nominations including a win for "Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year" at the 2011 GMA Canada Awards in Calgary, Alberta. Working with producer Darryl Swart (Tree 63) and Red Tree Studios, they released their sophomore album "Bright Lights" on September 2012. This album received nominations for "Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year" at the 2013 GMA Covenant Awards in Toronto, Ontario along with Spiritual Recording of the Year at the 2013 Western Canadian Music Awards. June 2014 marked the release of their most successful single to date “Love In Motion” which spent over 5 months as one of the Top 5 most played Canadian songs and 17 weeks on the Canadian Christian Radio Chart (CCRC) peaking at #14. Cities Under Fire is finally back with a brand new summer anthem “Hope” out April 2015, showcasing the band’s most definitive sound to date.
