Growing up in Cairns, a small tropical city nestled between lush Tropical Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef in the Far North of Australia, for over 10 years now Sammy J has made an impression not only locally but also on the International Music Scene. Locally, Sammy J holds 4 resident DJ spots and plays at major Club Nights with both International & National DJ's. Her djing has often taken her out of the clubs and bars and into the Radio Stations, Class rooms, where she instructed young wana-be Female DJ's, and to djing on the Dreamscape Float for Festival Cairns, which paraded through the city streets in front of 30,000 people. Sammy J's success was topped with an achievement at the Cairns Elec: Tropcia Annual Music Awards in 2004 by winning 3 categories... * Industry Achievement * Favourite Emerging Talent * Favourite Dance DJ Internationally, Sammy J has seen many dance floors in a variety of countries around Europe, including the UK, Italy, South of France and Spain, which saw Sammy J hold two resident DJ spots, Guest sets at ‘Pacha’ in Palma de Mallorca & Titos (in), along with parties in Barcelona and Ibiza. And lets not forget a winter season in the Swiss Alps proved successful with yet another short-term residency. Back on Australian shores, in 2010/11 Sammy played at all the major clubs and festival events in the whole of North Queensland. She was one of only 3 local DJ’s to be asked to play at the TimeOut Festival, with top Aussie Hip Hop band, Bliss n Eso heading lining the day. The European Summer of 2011 proved to be a highlight, with a very inspirational trip to Ibiza, Spain. Not only mixing amongst the worlds top DJ's & Promoters at some of the best clubs and club nights in the world, Sammy J played along side Matt Caseli in the 'Funky Room' in PACHA IBIZA for the 'F*** Me I'm Famous - David Guetta' night and then a smashing solo set at 'All Gone Pete Tong - Pete Tong' night. Sammy J has DJ’ed along side some amazing International and national artists in clubs all over the world and also Co-hosts the fortnightly radio show, “These pretzels are making me thirsty “ on www.reelhousefm.com via the Inbedproductions Studios in Cairns. This is a global station broadcasting to thousands of listeners worldwide. Most recently Sammy has joined forces with Vocalist Amy Chase and Electric Violinist Natasha Ratz, to form a live dance act called Pandora’s Heat. Pandora’s Heat is a melting pot of the 3 unique female musicians from different parts of the world and different areas of the music industry. They found each other through fate and discovered an amazing blend of all their talents created a high-energy show that is perfect for the rapidly evolving EDM scene. With Dj Sammy J in control of the decks, Amy Chase’s enchanting vocals and Natasha Ratz’s room filling freestyle violin rifts, these girls have found a recipe that will send any audience into a frenzy! As for Sammy's solo music style’s, this progresses from Deep, Funky, Tech styled House, to big room house, Liquid funk to hard style Drum & Bass and on occasions a splash of Dubstep.
