Born and raised in the Philippines, Han came to Canada in 2006. She is a self-taught poet and musician who continues to seek improvement and learning. After attending a poetry workshop in 2009, meeting like-minded individuals, realizing the power of her own story and immersing herself into the Filipino-Canadian stories in the diaspora, Han started writing and eventually performing in local Filipino-Canadian community events. She usually works in collaboration with other artists while maintaining her own artistic individuality. She pursues her art because it is an empowering tool to tell the narratives of the immigrant experiences. She seeks to understand and continuously navigate how to be Filipino in Canada and how to be Canadian while being Filipino.
