Lisa Kalil Biography
Artista brasileira de 25 anos natural de São Paulo. Cantar, escrever música, poesia e peças de teatro, atuar, dançar, pintar, editar vídeos e origami, são algumas das formas que Lisa encontrou para se expressar e materializar suas emoções. Graduada recentemente pela universidade The New School, em Nova York, Lisa estudou Jazz Vocal Performance e Culture and Media (2012-2016). Antes da faculdade, LK fez um curso técnico/profissional de Engenharia de Áudio na escola SAE, e foi para este curso que Lisa inicialmente foi para Nova York em janeiro de 2011.
LK acumulou mais de 40 performances entre Nova York e Sao Paulo (onde vive atualmente). Durante os cinco anos que viveu na Big Apple, Lisa participou de gravações, tocou ao lado de grandes músicos de Jazz e desenvolveu sua arte. Entre os músicos que LK estudou/se apresentou com estão Danny Mixon (Charles Mingus, Betty Carter), Rubens Salles (Zeca Baleiro, Cravo e Canella, Edsel Gomez) and Kate Baker (Norman Simmons, Vic Juris).
Lisa canta um mix de Jazz, Bossa Nova e MPB (incluindo originais) mas sua paixão por musicais também tem uma influência em sua formação vocal. Durante sua adolescência, Lisa teve o privilégio de gravar para um CD de Toquinho, trabalhar em Voice Overs/Music para propagandas e uma abertura de novela na televisão.

25 year-old Brazilian artist based in São Paulo. From singing to writing music, poetry and plays, to acting, dancing, painting, editing videos and making origami, Lisa has always chased new ways to express herself and to bringing her soul out to the world. Recently graduated from The New School, she studied Jazz Vocal Performance and Culture and Media (2012-2016). Before attending college in New York she took a year long professional course in Audio Engineering (SAE NY), which was actually what brought Lisa to New York City in January 2011.
LK has accumulated over 40 performances between New York City and Sao Paulo (where she is originally from). Throughout her five years living in the Big Apple she participated of CD recordings, played by the side of great Jazz musicians and developed her craft. Among the musicians LK has studied/performed with are Danny Mixon (Charles Mingus, Betty Carter), Rubens Salles (Zeca Baleiro, Cravo e Canella, Edsel Gomez) and Kate Baker (Norman Simmons, Vic Juris).
Lisa sings mostly Jazz, Brazilian Jazz, Bossa Nova and MPB (originals included) but her love for Musicals also has an influence on her vocals. Growing up, Lisa had the privilege to record for renowned Bossa Nova composer Toquinho, and work on Voice Overs/Music for TV Advertisements and Soap Opera openings.
