Peter Paul Cetera (born September 13, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American singer, songwriter and bassist. He became known with the rock band Chicago, which he left in 1985. After that he was successful as a solo artist.After Cetera had already gained first experience in the band The Exceptions in the 1960s, he became a member of The Big Thing in 1967, which later renamed Chicago Transit Authority and then Chicago, with which he was successful in the following years. In 1985 he got out of the band in favor of a solo career. His first solo single after the split from Chicago, Glory of Love, immediately made it to No. 1 in the US charts and is part of the soundtrack of Karate Kid II - Decision in Okinawa. In a duet with Amy Grant and the song The Next Time I Fall, he was able to repeat this success in the same year.His song Save Me 1989 was the title song of the first season of the US series Baywatch - The Lifeguards of Malibu.
