Joris Roelofs (born February 21, 1984 in Aix -en- Provence) is a Dutch jazz musician (saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, flute).Live and actRoelofs, who grew up in Amsterdam, began playing clarinet with eleven alto saxophones at the age of eight. He studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he earned the master`s degree in 2007. From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the Vienna Art Orchestra (Third Dream); he also played First Alto Saxophone in the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. In 2008 he recorded the debut album Introducing Joris Roelofs (Material Records) with Aaron Goldberg, Ari Hoenig and Matt Penman. 2010 was followed by the quartet album Live at the Bimhuis. With his band he performed several times at the North Sea Jazz Festival. In 2012 he played in a trio with Pablo Held and Ted Poor. In 2015 Pirouet Records released the album Amateur Dentist, which he recorded in a trio with Matt Penman and Ted Poor. He is also heard on recordings with Laura Fygi and the Metropole Orkest. He also appeared with Brad Mehldau, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sonny Fortune, Ari Hoenig, Matthias Schriefl and the WDR Big Band Cologne.Hendrikus Johannes `Han` Bennink (born April 17, 1942 in Zaandam, the Netherlands) is a Dutch drummer and multi-instrumentalist. The musician, who has always broadened the drums with everyday objects or played them on an extremely reduced set, played an important role in the development of free jazz of a European character and also gained theatrical and parodic effects from his performances.
