Join singer-songwriter Yazmin for a CD release extravaganza for her third album, THE NAUTILUS. She will be sharing the stage with her 5-piece band (made up of members from Cuba, Wisconsin and Minneapolis), electro South American sensation Alma Andina and other special guests.

Yazmin has spent her whole life playing music, having grown up with musician parents. Her career has taken her many places from recording at Fantasy Studio in Berkeley, California to opening for Nanci Griffith in Bayfield, Wisconsin to recording her new album, THE NAUTILUS, with producers in Havana, Cuba. She studied piano performance under a full scholarship at McNally Smith College of Music. Songwriting has always been the common thread for her and earned her recognition as the 2010 Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua Songwriter of the Year. Over the years, Cuban music has played a big roll in her life. She spent over a decade studying Latin piano with master in the field Rebeca Mauleón-Santana, among others, and also studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. She has performed extensively throughout the country with multiple Twin Cities salsa groups including Salsabrosa, Charanga Tropical and her own group La Banda Nueva. Her newest album highlights her unique Folk-Rock sound with a mix of Cuban influences. The raw, human emotion of her songs is transmitted through her powerful stage presence and stellar 5-piece band.

The band Alma Andina combines traditional instruments from South America with Latin rhythms such as Cumbia, Salsa, Guajira, Reggaeton, Reggae, and other danceable styles. They have been playing music in the Twin Cities for more than 7 years, always evolving in their instrumentation, line up, and sound in general. With a diverse line up including Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the USA, Alma Andina brings a mix of musical flavors and invites the community to feel unified and represented by the beautiful and always evolving diversity.
