Adrian Michael Band

It all started when two boys from South Carolina finished an afternoon chill session, writing and playing some tunes together. Adrian Gonzalez was introducing some songs he recently wrote. Jared Wise, adding guitar parts and solos, glanced at Adrian and said, "Hey, let's put a band together."

Jared and Adrian began to see that the acoustic tunes and bedroom-studio originals had the potential to be so much more. By adding the musical genius of Matt Smith and the upbeat spunk of Brent Harris, the music came to life. John Owens, Adrian's roommate and best friend, completed the sound. Summer of 2017 found the band booking shows, building demos and setting their sights on a studio release.

With a nod to the eclectic pop-rock of the Dave Matthews Band and a nostalgia for the bygone days of brazenly naming a band for the singer/songwriter/frontman, they took the name Adrian Michael Band.

"We want our music to have a fresh newness while remaining heavily influenced by the greats that have gone before us and become mainstays," Adrian says. "Every musical part is as important as the lyrical message intertwined with it."

Every song has its own vibe, and the concepts are simple while the parts make up a whole that is musically complex. The results are fresh, indie-pop sounds with a moody and introspective tone.

While the band is newly formed, the members have known each other for years, playing together in studio sessions, church bands, and more before settling into the Adrian Michael Band. The long relationships are evident on stage when they perform, and the years of prior experience in alternate genres and groups ultimately give AMB a rich blend of indie pop, rock, and alternative sounds.

"It's about contributing to and being connected with something bigger than ourselves," says Jared Wise, lead guitarist and band manager.

THE LOGO

The logo was conceptualized at the end of the first formal practice of AMB, when Adrian said, "We don't really know what this is going to be or where it's taking us. But as long as we love what we're doing, as long as someone out there is listening, we have to keep going. Let's just ride the wave."

The logo not only resembles a wave, the grounding theme for the band, but forms the initials of Adrian Michael.
