DEEPER POOL HOLOGRAPH EARRING--------DEEPER’s been a staple act here in Chicago opening up for PUP’s Lollapalooza aftershow last summer, DEHD’s record release back in December and Whitney’s Valentine’s Special at Thalia Hall in February. An explosive and commanding act in their own right, the time has now come for DEEPER to step up to the plate and present their own record release show for the long-awaited debut album. Consisting of Shiraz Bhatti, Mike Clawson, Nic Gohl, and Drew McBride, the quartet brings a fuller, more nuanced sound with a stronger focus on guitar interplay and driving rhythms. On their excellent Fire Talk debut, "Trans," released this past May, DEEPER channels the anxiety and uneasiness of modern life by weaving chiming guitar swirls to a dense climax. We can’t wait to get a full serving from the boys and inevitably delve deeper into DEEPER. Incessant, courageous and uplifting, indie rock group POOL HOLOGRAPH makes the journey to us after their last appearance opening for Chad VanGaalen in December. Filled with emotion and epic sweeping guitar riffs, their blend of adventure rock is a sure shot method to raise your spirits and your day. Their latest record, Town Quarry, was recorded with local sound engineer extraordinaire Dave Vettraino who has worked with other Chicago powerhouses such as Lala Lala, Melkbelly and Ne-Hi. Veterans of the local DIY scene, we’re excited to bring POOL HOLOGRAPH in our walls to bring new life to their recordings. It’s been too damn long since we’ve seen EARRING around these parts. That’s most likely due to the pair extensively touring with their other band NE-HI across country and guitarist/vocalist Jason Balla running sound for TWIN PEAKS on his off time. A blend of fuzz rock and self-described “moody reverb”, the duo have created quite the stir around Chicago for the past 5 years and we can’t wait to have them stir some more shit up on stage.
