Jeremy Turgeon Quintet

The Jeremy Turgeon Quintet, or "JTQ" as they are often referred to as, brings a fresh, new sound to the modern jazz scene. Since their inception in November of 2014, the band has made it quite clear that their passion for what they do will keep them around to years to come!
Fusing the traditions of jazz with the musical elements of Rn'B/Neo-Soul spanning across the decades, the JTQ captures the attention of audiences of wide age ranges and musical upbringings. Taking inspiration from artists like: Robert Glasper, Musiq Soulchild, and Lalah Hathaway - the band, though primarily instrumental, can work seamlessly with the addition of a vocalist, and often feature vocalists Jeremy Wilson, and Nichelle J. Mungo.
The band has performed at the Stone Soul Festival, Indie Soul Festival, Springfield Jazz and Roots Festival, Northampton City Strut, Rockwood Music Hall, Shrine World Music Venue, the historic Bing Arts Center (Where they hosted a year-long residency in 2015), and numerous other stages across the northeastern United States. In 2015 the band opened for the critically acclaimed band, The Nth Power, and have worked with Braxton Cook, Linda Henderson, Jo Sallins, Jim "Mondongo" Messbauer, and more.
On August 14th, 2015, the JTQ, while still a quartet, released their debut EP, New Journey. The project featured all original music written by members of the band, and was the first glimpse into what the band had to offer. February 17th, 2017, as a quintet, they released the single "Again" which featured vocalist Nichelle J. Mungo. The single is off their full length album, "What Matters Most" due for release by the end of 2017.
