Marion Harper Biography

Marion Harper is making a comeback with a new album, “Hydrangea” (Luup Records, 2017). A record that comes two years after the release of his debut “Cotton Candy” (Luup Records, 2015), after touring all over the territory in venues and important Spanish festivals such as Festival STRENES, l’Acústica de Figueres or Festival Altaveu, and after having supported bands like M83, DORIAN or Marlango in Barcelona. In addition, her first album was recognized with the 2016 Discoverie Prize by STRENES Festival and a nomination to Best Breakout Artist in the ARC Awards.

With “Hydrangea” comes Harper’s sound maturity. Far left is the Marion who appeared in society with 17 years and an EP called “Seasons” (Luup Records, 2014), where innocent melodies and folk predominated. With this new album, we find a Marion Harper seduced by electronics, after flirting with them in “Cotton Candy”. This is a mature, powerful and crude album that represents a turning point in her trajectory. “Hydrangea” is formed by 8 songs that are dark and complex. Close to a sonority that will delight fans of artists like Lorde or Banks, the new Harper’s songs are a clear example of the passage of time. We are facing Harper’s most personal album so far with songs that speak of loss, love and death.
