Jamboree Jazz Club
Aaron Abernathy vocals & keyboard, Abel Calzetta guitar, Manuel Pablo Sanz bass, Akinsola Elegbede drums. For lovers of soul and R&B, this is a date to mark in red on the calendar, because this is a priceless opportunity to discover this very personal American singer and pianist close up in a club concert. Aaron Abernathy is a talented musician born in Cleveland and trained with Gerlad Levert. Just like Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack, he studied music at the prestigious Howard University, where he graduated in jazz piano. With exceptional talent not just on the keyboards but also in vocals, he has acted as musical director on international tours by Black Milk and Slum Village, and has worked with Grammy-nominated artists like Jack White, the Foreign Exchange and Eric Roberson. In spring 2015, Abernathy and his group Nat Turner supported Black Milk on their European tour, winning over audiences with their magnificent combination of gospel-inspired voices, with sharp changes of rhythm and funky twists revealing influences from Prince and James Brown. Today he comes to the Jamboree bringing his new album Dialogue, which came out this October and which he will undoubtedly be taking to stages all over the world.
