Sangit Chamber Ensemble Biography

The term “Sangit” means “music” in Sanskrit language. Although relating chamber music to an Indian term might look strange, there is a simple explanation for this: music comes from the Spirit (Atma in Sanskrit) and its value is universal.Member of Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra, Anne-Marie Ene graduated National Music University from Bucharest (1995), and also Trinity College London and Gandharva Mahavidyalaya from New Delhi. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, recommended her to study Indian classical music. In India, Anne Marie studied with Prof. Joy Shrivastav, violinist of All India Radio and Dr. Swarna Khuntia. She was invited as concert-maestro to Delhi Symphony Orchestra (2002-2003) and she is collaborating with the best Romanian orchestras. Her solo career includes chamber music recitals, solo recitals and Indian classical music concerts.

Cleopatra David (soprano) graduated the National Music University from Bucharest in 2004, pursued the Master in Choir conducting and obtained the PHD in musicology in 2010. She attended master classes with: Prof. Claudia Eder (Hochschule für Musik der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz), Prof. George Emil Crăsnaru (Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf), Sabin Pautza (New Jersey Philharmonic), Mariana Nicolesco, Laurie Reviol (HfMDK, Frankfurt am Main.), mezzosoprano Viorica Cortez, the director Vincenzo Liotta and the conductor Christian Badea. Her performances include chamber music concerts, solo recitals and gala concerts.

The pianist Miron Vasilescu graduated the National Music University from Bucharest (1995). His professional activity combines teaching and performing. He was the pianist of National Operetta Theater from Bucharest “Ion Dacian”. He performs often in chamber music ensembles and in solo recitals.

Avadhut Kasinadhuni is a tabla performer who, despite his very young age, acquired a very good musical level. He started to study tabla in New Delhi with Maestro Kamal Kant. He is currently studying in Bucharest violin and piano and also continues the tabla classes in New Delhi
