ROMEN Biography
ROMEN is an American R&B singer and songwriter. Born in Texas and raised in Louisiana, he credits his southern upbringing for his love of singing and creating music. Romen grew up, as a pastor's son, singing in church and began writing songs at the age of 12. He is now emerging to become the artist that he has always dreamed of becoming.
Romen pours his smooth vocals over contrasting beats to deliver the empowering messages of his music. The consistent theme of his music is self-love coupled with self-expression regardless of gender, ethnicity or any other social construct.
Growing up, he fell in love with the voices of Tevin Campbell, Whitney Houston, Mario, Yolanda Adams and Toni Braxton. For Romen, these voices created mental images that told real life stories. These singers inspired him to tell stories through his own music. In Romen’s songs “Note To Self” and “Catch Me If You Can”, listeners can hear several of his influences in the lyrics, vocal arrangements, and melodies.
Romen’s goal is to create a soundtrack for every emotion that he has ever felt believing that he will connect deeply with listeners who have encountered similar experiences.
Romen’s latest project “Dear Growing Pain” independently debuted at #3 on the iTunes R&B charts. In February 2019 he was awarded the 2019 Eddy Award for Outstanding R&B/Soul Artist of The Year. He is currently touring and working on releasing new music.
