In celebration of Tower of Power’s 50th anniversary, acclaimed bass guitarist/composer Laurence Cottle presents Soul Vacation a funky big band to perform the music of the renowned horn-driven funk outfit and one of the most dynamic groups of musicians to ever hit the stage, Tower of Power.

Cottle, whose solo recordings have been mostly in jazz and jazz fusion has worked with a variety of bands that include the
Alan Parsons Project, Django Bates, Bill Bruford's Earthworks and Van Morrison. Yet it’s the funk and the groove that Cottle’s band celebrates in this very special show. Since 1968, Tower of Power has delivered their unique brand of music to their loyal fans, appearing before sold out crowds as they tour the world each year. Their sound can be hard to categorize, but the band's leader and founding member, Emilio Castillo, has labelled it as "Urban Soul Music." So, come and join the party as we say thank-you to Tower of Power for supplying us with 50 years of the funkiest music around.
