MIT KAISER FRANZ JOSEF UND THE WHOLLSSchraubt Eure Verstärker fest, denn es wird laut in Monheim.Wir wagen im Sojus 7 ein Experiment und sind Zwischenstop des JägerMusic Clubaufschlag: Make Rock Great Again. Die Charts werden momentan von Latinsongs und Dancehits dominiert – die Rockmusik bleibt komplett auf der Strecke. Das Musikförderprogramm JägerMusic von Jägermeister will das beim Clubaufschlag nun ändern: Kaiser Franz Josef aus Österreich und The Wholls aus England machen sich im Februar 2018 auf, den Rock’n’Roll zurück unter die Leute zu bringen. Dabei performen die Jungs in 17 Clubs in allen Ecken Deutschlands und spielen quasi vor jedermanns Haustür. Eine Tour – die so knallt wie ein Wiener Walzer mit der Queen. Prost. Can we make rock great again? Yes, we can! Und mit wem? KAISER FRANZ JOSEF Gründungsjahr: 2009 Aktuelles Album: Make Rock Great Again Stillgestanden, der Kaiser ist zurück! Mit dem österreichischen Trio tritt nun der neue Rock-Adel an, veraltete Traditionen mit seinem royalen Kick-Ass-Sound gründlich von der Platte zu fegen und auf moderne, frische Art zu präsentieren. Nachdem Kaiser Franz Josef schon als gefeierter Supportact von AC/DC die Bühne in Schutt und Asche gelegt haben, knallt die zu allem entschlossene Dreiertruppe aus Wien nun nochmal eine ganze Schippe oben drauf - ganz getreu dem Motto ihres brandneuen Albums: "Make Rock Great Again"! 2017 standen die drei Jungs auf der Hauptbühne vom Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park, Wacken, Popfest & Novarock, spielten ihre Debüttour durch Deutschland vor ausverkauften Venues und haben als Mainsupport von Airbourne noch einen draufgelegt. Sänger Sham freut sich schon, mit dem Clubaufschlag "unsere Message an die Rockcrowd zu bringen. " THE WHOLLS Gründungsjahr: 2016 Aktuelles Album: The Wholls Warum sprechen bald alle über The Wholls? Mit Sicherheit mag es daran liegen, dass die Band aus dem britischen Bedford in den zurückliegenden Monaten mit ihren krassen Liveshows für Aufsehen sorgte (Merksatz: "They make punkrock seem like a picnic"), u.a. beim Great Escape Festival, Reeperbahn Festival (wo 200 Fans an der Tür abgewiesen werden mussten) und regelmäßig ausverkaufte Shows im Sage Club Berlin. Oder an ihrem unermüdlichen Arbeitsfleiß. Oder an ihrem unglaublichen Charisma. Oder an ihrer nicht zu bändigenden Energie. Oder einfach an ihrem Talent, unfassbar catchy Songs zu schreiben. New York, January 2011…
On the snowy pavement of the Caffe Vivaldi stands a musician, guitar on his back, still stunned by the applause he has just received. It must be said that performing for the first time on an open mic is never easy.
Even though he has spent the last ten years of his life in recording studios and on stages all over Europe as a guitarist for various rock bands, Charley Verlaine could never have imagined how much of a trial by fire it would be to sing alone on stage with just a guitar. But the signs are there and are rarely misleading. The encouragement he received that night showed him the possibility of existing as a solo artist. That night, the applause sounded like an approval.
Everything had to be done now. The excitement of any beginning. Creating a sound, a universe, an identity. The coming months would be creative, productive and stimulating. Colours, shapes, sounds would come to dress the walls of the rehearsal room and give birth to his first songs.
Two years later, in 2013, Charley Verlaine decided to leave his native France for Germany where new opportunities seemed to be opening up for him. After seven years of hard work composing, writing and performing, the final results were satisfying enough to start the recording of his first solo album.
