Women performers have long held the spotlight on stages across the world, but their compositions have an important and unique role in the history of our music, shedding artistic light on the female perspective of love, loss, and what it means to be a “natural woman”. This show takes us from the compositions of Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday all the way through the singer/songwriter shift in popular music from Joni Mitchell to Carly Simon, and culminating in today’s top female artists including Adele and Alicia Keys.
