JAMIE STEVENS (AUS)
[microCastle // Bedrock // Selador // Chameleon Recordings // Lost & Found]
https://soundcloud.com/jamiestevens

The heart and soul of Jamie Stevens' extensive body of work is his desire to deliver an individual experience, as he takes us on an excursion into the human psyche with each masterpiece. There are only a small number of composers within the electronic music realm that diligently share the same consistency, quality and humble nature of Jamie. This is Jamie's key attribute that will continue to be the center-point of his growth as he confidently remains a major contributor, and role model, to the house and techno community on a global scale.
Through two decades of countless offerings to the electronica world, two ARIA awards (with band members of Australian live act Infusion, whom are responsible for hit releases such as "Girls Can Be Cruel", "Natural" and "Better World”), collaborations and remixes with the world's most revered artists, performing on the grandest of all stages (Womb [Tokyo], Fabric [London] and other venues in places as far-flung as New York, Singapore, Moscow, Copenhagen and Taipei), Jamie’s most recent EP releases are a true indication that Mr Stevens has matured into a sophisticated artist with depth and consistency. Stevens' hugely successful 2013 release on microCastle, "The Wonder of You”, is best described by the label: "This is a production that comes from heart.” To really put the nature of this track into perspective, Guy J gives full respect to Jamie’s musical offering, describing the track as “one of the greatest musical pieces of all time”.

His follow up release on microCastle ("The Healing" EP released in 2015) has enjoyed global success and support from a diverse range of artists such as Lee Burridge, Joris Voorn, Hernan Cattaneo and Sasha. Charted at #2 in Beatport's Electronica chart and #7 in the overall Top 100, the EP, which includes Guy J’s remix of “My Tears Don’t Help Me”, is stunningly well- rounded and lends you the full listening experience. These releases are some of Stevens' best work to date and his DJ performances of recent times have shared the same notoriety.

Recent releases and projects include remixes for Guy J's "Lost & Found" label, Marc Poppcke’s “Crossfrontier Audio”, an original track on Dale Middleton's "Tarnished Tracks”, his trademark drive and atmosphere finding favour yet again with DJs such as Sasha, Guy J, Kruse & Nuernberg and D- Nox. Stevens is also a key contributor to Chameleon Recording’s new "Mentor Initiative”, which is helping shape the local Australian artist talent, truly assisting in developing the countries house and techno young promising producers and composers. A new EP to be released on Crossfrontier Audio plus a remix for Jeremy Olander are just a couple of things to look forward to.
“I love the sense of community in a club environment, where the music becomes physical and the event becomes an experience. To be able to contribute to that soundtrack is exciting.” - Jamie Stevens.

MIKE CALLANDER (AUS)
[HAUL MUSIC // Revolver Upstairs]
https://soundcloud.com/haul-music

Mike Callander started DJing in 2001, and since then has been recognised as one of Australia’s most diverse and yet consistent selectors. He continues to open and close for countless touring artists in Australia and at various destinations across the world, but more importantly has helmed critical residencies at home in Melbourne clubbing institutions such as Honkytonks, for which he also compiled and recorded The Last Dance mix CD released globally in 2007, and more recently at Revolver, where his weekly Friday night offering continues beyond its seventh year.

In 2008 Mike co-founded Haul Music and began releasing ambitious avant-garde techno productions including a long-player “Antarctica” and subsequent remix album, from which his tracks found their way on to mix CDs such as Dave Seaman’s Renaissance Masters, as well as into the crates of various tastemakers, and surprisingly even onto morning television. Mike continues to challenge the listener with his production style, but as time progresses the artistic gap has narrowed between the music he plays in DJ sets and that which he feels is worthy of release, and currently some of his best DJ moments are attached to the dissemination of his own productions to the dancefloor.

In 2012, alongside accomplished sound designer Davide Carbone, Mike co-founded School of Synthesis, an educational facility that offers high-end hands-on training to music producers and DJs. His work at SOS led him to become an Ableton Certified Trainer, one of only 250 people in the world endorsed by the company to demonstrate their software. Most recently Mike expanded his educational focus to include mentoring and technology classes at The University of Melbourne’s Bachelor of Music in Interactive Composition.

In 2016 and 2017 Mike’s production skills took him across Australia and the world for more than 30 shows with The Avalanches. This chart-topping Australian band is one of many to engage Mike’s live-show programming skills to take their project from the studio onto stages such as Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Roskilde, Rock Werchter, BBK Live and Nos Alive. At the other end of the performance spectrum Mike is equally at home performing solo improvised electronic sets in sweaty nightclubs, or alongside T-Rek and Honeysmack as The Broken Acid Experiment.

Beyond 2017 Mike is more inspired for DJing and live performance than ever, but has an additional focus: Zero Percent, the production team he formed with Kim Moyes (of The Presets) and their new record label Here To Hell, with their first releases imminent and to be distributed globally by Kompakt.
