Captivating vocals and mesmerizing song lyrics are the story of the night. Don’t miss this chance to experience mountain music through the hearts of five extremely talented women.

After Jack, formed in 2011, fuses bluegrass, gospel and folk elements. Through expressive songwriting, captivating vocals and a unique take on traditional mountain music, they create a modern sound with a distinctly old-time energy. After Jack consists of Mary Allison, Emily Blankenship-Tucker, and Rachel Blankenship-Tucker. The band takes its name from the hero of beloved mountain folk-tales, whose quick thinking and good fortune always brought him out on top.

Born and raised in the two Virginias, songwriter-performer Sarah White might resemble some kind of Hazel Dickens/Patti Smith/Cat Power love child. Her catalog offers an eclectic blend of driving folk-rock, sorrowful country ballads and experimental, personal narrative songs– the trifecta that defines her lengthening body of work. Her latest album, out in April, features 11 of her best songs recorded with a bevy of special guests including Dave Matthews, Carl Anderson, Carter Gravatt of Carbon Leaf, and members of Sleepwalkers.

Catherine The Great is the solo project of Catherine Backus, formerly half of Athens, GA duo, The Skipperdees. A winner of the 2017 Merlefest Chris Austin Songwriting Contest, Catherine draws comparisons to Kathleen Edwards, Lori McKenna, and Gillian Welch. You can cyberstalk her at catherinethegreatmusic.com. She would love to see a picture of your dog.
