The Big Comfy Bookshop proudly presents the award winning acoustic evening 'Comfy & Acoustic'.
Intimate performances from the best UK (and beyond) musicians covering folk, Americana, singer-songwriters and roots

Tracey Browne
Tracey Browne is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and session singer; her credits include recording projects by Thea Gilmore, Nigel Stonier and a host of independent artists.

From producing and recording other artists, to singing and playing live with bands and songwriters of many different genres, Tracey has become one of the most versatile musicians to work with in the UK. Playing guitar, piano, tenor guitar, bass guitar, Q-chord and providing outstanding vocals, both on her own songs and harmonising with others, she is in demand on the professional circuit.

Tracey trained as a sound engineer at Manchester's 'Airtight Studios', where she recorded and mixed her 2 EP's, 'Tooth and Nail', (2007) and 'The Cat and the Moon', (2009), her album 'Everyone Is Ordinary', (2012) and her duo album with Raevennan Husbandes 'East by North West' (2015).

Foxglove Trio
The Foxglove Trio seek out lesser-known traditional and contemporary folk songs and, with care and creativity, transform them into moments of breathtaking beauty.

Since forming in 2010 these talented musicians have built a powerful signature sound based on Patrick Dean's bold melodeon playing, Cathy Mason's intricate cello lines and Ffion Mair's clear, soaring vocals.

A review of their debut full album, These Gathered Branches, commented that the interest never wanes when listening to The Foxglove Trio (R2 magazine). The group keep their audiences entertained by not only singing in both English and Welsh but by adding tight vocal harmonies, guitar, whistle, bodhran and even a second cello to enrich the band's sound.

Cliff Ward
Cliff Ward is a singer-songwriter, guitar teacher for 20 years and multi-instrumentalist in the established folk outfit The Willows. Finding time to fit in other musical projects Cliff also plays in rock band The Electric Lights as well as performing solo; sharing his own self-penned songs.

Cliff's songwriting shows real variety from traditional folk music to modern rock and pop, and all with fine song writing talent.

Cliff co-founded The Willows with wife Jade Rhiannon, sister Prue Ward, Ben Savage and Steve Maclachlan in 2010. The band have gone on to perform internationally at festivals across Europe and regular tours in the UK. In 2013 the band performed live on Radio 2's Bob Harris show after their debut album "Beneath our Humble Soil' was released. After some line up changes along the way The Willows are now working tirelessly on their third album due for release in 2018.
