Dubinski are 4 brothers from Leeds and a nephew. They play energetic music with plenty of melody. My mate describes them as Alex Turner singing vocals for Franz Ferdinand. Dubinski very much their own people but it gives an idea. They have just finished playing 4 gigs at the Voodoo Rooms. A few of us have been to all 4 and watched them get tighter and sharper as they go. So many good tunes, fast, slow you name it. These lads all play well and Eugene is a dynamic frontman with a vocal style that really suits the band. Drum and bass absolutely solid foundation and Fergus talented and tasteful on lead. Also not forgetting nephew Lukasz (not sure of spelling) who adds some nice guitar and synth textures to round out the sound. The lads are taking a well earned break before heading off round the country. If they are in your part of the world treat yourselves. When they play at home next time I hope to be there. Come and join me!

Dubinski Biography

Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, Dubinski are four inseparable brothers: Eugene, Fergus, Donal and Eoin Gaine. Originally from the remote green hills of North Yorkshire, the Gaine brothers lived their childhood in atmospheric and social isolation. A shared love of music was the common thread amongst the four, so they spent their adolescent years writing and performing for the sheer joy of it. Eventually the brothers moved to Edinburgh for their university studies, but the music passion never abated, so post-university they decided to raise the bar of their childhood music ‘hobby’ and make a proper go of it. Taking on the band name Dubinski (their late mother’s maiden name), the band wrote and recorded the songs that would eventually become their debut album. Working with Grammy Award winning producers/engineers Mike Horner (Yonaka, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip) and Robbie Nelson (Beck, Jarvis Cocker, Rolling Stones), Dubinski recorded the entire album at RAK Studios in London. Dubinski’s debut album is set for release in Autumn 2022.
