The Oblations

The Oblations are a one of a kind two-man Blues/Funk band from North Carolina. The core consists of Joe MacPhail (simultaneous drums & keys, vocals) and Daniel Fields (electric guitar, slide guitar, simultaneous guitar-bass, vocals). Oblations live shows are known for their innovative live performance style, heartfelt lyrics, well-crafted songs, and raw musicality. The music is a continuation of the legacies of American Songcraft and American Improvisational Styles, including the world music traditions that inform the styles. Their musical approach is somewhere between Jimi Hendrix, Lettuce, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tom Waits, and Taj Mahal. They are often joined by 3-piece horn section The Dino Horns. Danny Abrams on baritone saxophone, Danny Grewen on trombone, Esteban Gonzalez on trumpet. They are all accomplished and esteemed musicians with a unique group chemistry that takes the group to ever-higher heights.
