Synaptic Collapse Biography
Synaptic Collapse is an Italian instrumental prog-metal iband. They’re born in mid 2008 from an idea of Lorenzo Barbera (Drums) and Andrea Minieri (Bass). With the arrival of the two guitarists Matteo Marguerettaz and Andrea Sinisi comes to form the stable core of the band.
The group's sound has varied influences ranging from metal, to jazz and classical music, but has as its common goal the search for a synthesis between the rhythmic complexity of Blotted Science and Meshuggah’s powerful and hypnotic riffs.
Since 2009, Synaptic Collapse has started composing original song and performing live by participating in various local events, but also in various northern Italy’s festivals.
In 2011, at the Dissonant Studio in Aosta, they recorded their first EP "Quantum Multiverse" consisting of five original songs. In 2014, bassist Andrea Minieri and guitarist Matteo Marguerettaz leave the band, and the band takes a few years to pause.
In 2017 the band re-composes with the arrival of guitarist Carlo Alberto Lupo and bassist Maurizio Amato. At the beginning of 2017 resumes live activity as well as composing new songs for a future second studio album.
