Jarett McAlister Music Biography

Jarett is known as the “Human Jukebox” in the Nashville music scene. HUMAN JUKEBOX is the title of his current EP and MUSIC VIDEO which was shot in the city of Nashville and inside of Nudie’s Honkytonk and Whiskey Bent Saloon.
JARETT IS CURRENTLY THE ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE AT Nudie’s Honkytonk on Broadway in Nashville, Tn. Jarett and his 5-piece band perform 6 regular shows weekly at Nudie’s and also a regular weekly show at Whiskeybent saloon. He also performs at various other Nashville venues such as Bootleggers Inn, Alan Jackson’s Good time bar, and various other Nashville venues and private shows. Jarett’s band consist of Top Nashville musicians.
Jarett's residency at Nudie's followed his US and Canadian tour with CMT - NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY as a lead guitarist. After a year of performing on Nashville’s lower Broadway, Jarett was paired with the talented TARA THOMPSON and went on to play lead guitar with Tara when she signed with Big Machine Label Group. This partnership landed him on the CMT's Next Women of Country gig. The tour included Sugarland Star JENNIFER NETTLES as well as BRANDY CLARK and LINDSEY ELLE. While a member of Tara's band, Jarett co-wrote a song with her titled “Jail” which is currently featured on Tara's EP titled, “Someone to Take Your Place”. After a final performance with Tara at the GRAND OLE OPRY in Nashville on April 30, 2016, Jarett left her band to pursue his own solo career as a performing artist and songwriter. Jarett likes to call his own special style of music ‘DRINKING' songs that DON’T TALK ABOUT DRINKIN’. Jarett released the Human Jukebox EP in May 2017 and the Human Jukebox video in September 2017.
THE ROAD TO NASHVILLE: Jarett graduated from the Defoore Institute of Music in Mineola Texas after 7 years of study under the legendary John Defoore. During that time Jarett hit the stage at an early age. He performed his first Honky Tonk Show at the age of 10. This led to many on-stage appearances at fairs, oprys, bars, television shows and private events up until his senior year in high school. Many of these events included big name headliners. These opportunities sealed his desire to pursue his goal as an artist. After graduating in 2009 from High School in Lindale, Texas at age 17, Jarett moved straight to Nashville to hone his craft as an artist. His first Nashville gig was with Tootsies Orchard Lounge. Over the next several years he performed at a variety of well-known Nashville venues. In addition to performing regularly, Jarett stayed busy, and continues to stay busy writing on Music Row. His current goal is to finish his album by January of 2018.
