The Word - mod, psych and Britpop leanings to the fore, this Kent band really know how to lay down a swaggering groove with melodic fire in the belly.

Loka- From Manchester, ambient psych with criss cross riddims and analog keys..a bit Can like, narcotic trancy disco rhythms too, so a little like stuff outta NYC circa 1980 when post punk meets mutant disco.. Have had stuff out on Ninja Tune. With superb arthouse videos in their remit, and guest vocals from people like Anthony Braithwaite and Jim Noir.. really enticing stuff.

The Wealden - Employing a slick disco riddim and getting a bit of blue eyed funk on the case a la early Japan, Power Station, INXS. Also Prince. Taut, tight, edgy pop with a harmonic vocal style somewhere between Bowie and Robert Palmer. Vocally rather Billy McKenzie actually. A crisp duo with some alluring material. 'Art-Rock / Avant'.

Transmetropolitan-2 chaps 2 chicks playing folk (there's some very fetching fiddle) - but kinda lofi indie psych folk- which is great- somewhere between4 piece 2 chaps 2 chicks playing folk (there's some very fetching fiddle) - but kinda lofi indie psych folk- which is great- somewhere between The Velvets and the Fairports with Nancy Sinatra on vox....alluring work.
