Sameer Gupta - (Set time: 9:30 PM) Sameer Gupta Sameer Gupta continues to push the envelope and dig deep by combining traditional and modern improvisational styles drawing from his dual Indian and American heritage. Gupta's latest album represents his expansive vision from a true multi-cultural perspective that now bridges several continents. 'A Circle Has No Beginning' delves into the deep waters of cultural cross-over music by honoring the ensemble's diversity, influences of soul music, Classical and Golden-Era music of India, Native American melodies, modern Jazz, and pure spontaneity help bring together a relevant and powerful statement. The brand new album represents the power of collaboration and mindfulness towards others. This project as a whole represents cultural unity through deep respect for musical traditions as well as the diversity of modern improvisation with musical collaborations between strong unique creative voices coming from different influences. Brandee Younger Trio - (Set time: 8:00 PM) Brandee Younger Trio A versatile artist who has been proven to defy genres and labels, this young harpist has created a unique niche in both traditional and non-traditional harp arenas. In addition to expressively interpreting traditional harp repertoire, this young harpist plays in a style reminiscent of Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane, yet has developed a beautiful and fresh sound all her own. Ms Younger is most recognized for working with Jazz royalty as well as Grammy winning Hip-Hop producers and artists. Her ability to feature the harp in genres of music where the instrument is often absent is a testament of her love for the instrument, and her cross-reaching ability as a musician.
