Sonamo' KingKongZilla CD release party MSK 21+ 9PM $7 adv $10 door Back at the Boom Boom Room and sharing the stage with KingKongZilla for their album release. Sonamo’ is one the hottest band in the SF Bay Area, bringing the energy, the happiness and the quality of their music on stage. We dare to change your perception of Italian music while keeping the Italian influence at the backbone. As a matter of fact, Sonamo’ performs tunes that have roots in the deepest Italian tradition with African, Hispanic and Middle Eastern influence, since the Italian territory has been colonized by many different cultures throughout the history. In a nutshell, you can dance it or listen to it, you’ll have a blast either way. You must experience it first-hand to believe. And of course, spinning the discs before, in between and after our sets there will be DJ Msk.fm that never disappoints and it makes harder to leave the venue when the show is over! ///----------------------ARTIST LINEUP----------------------/// Sonamo' - Italian Funk Sonamo' meaning comes from a dialect word from Napoli (ITALY) which literally means “play now!” but it's actually slang for "show me what you got [in a provocative way]”. Band founder Giuseppe Pinto moved to San Francisco CA in 2010 from Italy, after walking his path through the music scene in the city, he started playing with several local bands and artists. After few years, he came to the realization that there is a lack of modern Italian music in the American music scene. On top of all, Italian music is well known and often associated with its classical side while there is an unknown world of jazz and funk. The meeting with guitarist Trent Berry brought to the decision of putting together a band that can express a smooth blend of Italian and American culture through music. The band proposes original music where one can listen to possible to the different background of each band member www.sonamomusic.com www.facebook.com/sonamo.music www.instagram.com/sonamo.music KingKongZilla KingKongZilla is a trio brought together by a mutual love and appreciation of all things freaky and groovy. Finding common ground in the likes of Frank Zappa, Primus, The Talking Heads, and Pink Floyd, it wasn't long before drummer Isaac Pond, guitarist William Chason, and bassist/synth player Alex Schwartz began pushing boundaries of their own, exploring new sonic territory through improv and songwriting, and most importantly, having a great goddamn time doing it. Soon after honing a sound that was as fun and danceable as it was spaced out and grinding, the band began to make it's mark on the local psychedelic rock scene, playing shows all over San Francisco, as well as Oakland, Pacifica, Santa Cruz, and Oroville. In the live setting, KingKongZilla completely lives up to its name, hammering out a larger than life concoction of funky grooves, psychedelic landscapes, doom-metal noise, the dark side of disco, robot synths, and good old freaked out rock and roll. A monstrous force to be reckoned with. This band truly brings it's own style to the Bay Area's legacy of psychedelic rock, while at the same time putting on a show that has something for everybody. https://www.kingkongzilla.com DJ Msk.fm Antonino Musco is a DJ/producer, radio host and jazz trained musician with an improvisational, audiovisual and soundtracks background.
