Such a great post-punk, goth, dream punk show Technophobia (Dark Electronic - DC) http://www.technophobiamusic.com https://soundcloud.com/technophobia-dc WINGTIPS (Dreampop / Postpunk - Chicago) http://www.wingtipswebsite.com https://wingtips.bandcamp.com SAFE HEX (Darkwave/Coldwave - Brooklyn) https://safehex.bandcamp.com/releases Sooner (Alternative, Shoegaze - Brooklyn) https://soonermusic.bandcamp.com TECHNOPHOBIA Hailing from Washington, DC, Technophobia has emerged with a sound that reaches back to the early days of EBM and darkwave, yet continually pushes forward. Using hardware and analog synthesizers, Katie and Stephen use a classic approach of layering, sound manipulation, effect processing, and heavy sampling to create their unique sound. The keystone and defining quality of Technophobia is Katie’s vocals. While being melodic, powerful, and poetic they take a pop centric approach to their song writing setting them apart from most in their genre. WINGTIPS was officially formed in 2014 by Vincent Segretario after informally having using the moniker for a number of previous experimental solo performances. In 2015 they self-released Ultravision – a collection of demos recorded at home. The title track from Ultravision, was featured in the TBS television series, Search Party. Wingtips' most recent release, Greyarea, is an androgynous sound of transition – an interpolation of darkly shimmering layers of angular guitar and pulsating EBM. SAFE HEX SOONER are a Brooklyn band somewhere in the rock / alternative / shoegaze intersection with upbeat sad songs and tenderly haunting vocals.
