October's Child Biography
"While crafted with an ear for classic songwriting, the music of October’s Child still arrives with a shimmering, dreamy vibe unlike any of today’s pop." - BMI
By now everyone's heard "Where Are Ü Now," the Justin Bieber hit that led to producer Jordan Waré earning two Grammys and one BMI award in 2016 and two more Grammys for Chance The Rapper's "Coloring Book" in 2017. Britt Warner has sung with bands like Miike Snow and Deradoorian at music festivals and her song "Diminuendo" with producer Dan Heath is currently featured in Burberry's epic holiday campaign commercial, as well as XBOX promos and TV shows like The Originals. Together, Waré and Warner are October's Child, co-producing moody, intimate songs that pull you under and take you to another world. A Libra and Scorpio, respectively, their shared birth month and attraction to the melancholy resulted in their band moniker.
"As You Go" will be the first full-length album from the L.A.-based duo, following up their debut EP's "Harvest" (October 2015) and "All I Never Knew" (May 2016). The 10-song release, co-produced by Waré and Warner and mixed by James Krausse (Beyonce, Nick Jonas), will be released in the months to come, featuring contributions from musicians Angel Deradoorian (Deradoorian, Dirty Projectors), Marc Walloch (AWOL Nation, Sp!ll), and Luis Briones (Stevie Wonder, Elle Varner). The album title is a lyric pulled from "Bowie," the final song on the album, encompassing the overall theme of the ten songs as a complete picture: transcendence and enlightenment via death and loss.
The music itself sounds like a Grimm's Fairytale come to life--darkly beautiful, otherworldly, and doomed. There is a dreamy and reflective quality, a wistful and moving undercurrent, with lyrics that continue to explore death and loss in a way that's simultaneously confronting and intense while also cradled in light and warmth.
Where the future of October's Child is concerned, Warner quotes her best friend, Angel Deradoorian:
"Music isn't about fame or making money, it's about discovering your highest self and sharing that with the world. That's all [we're] trying for."
"Providing the perfect seasonal soundtrack, LA duo October’s Child delivers some seriously beautiful, cinematic tracks on their hearty debut EP Harvest." - BULLETT Magazine
"Harvest" and "All I Never Knew" are available everywhere that digital music is sold online.
