Relick Biography
RELICK’s throwback indie rock has garnered comparisons to Jenny Lewis, The Strokes, and Liz Phair. Led by Matt Hibbard's crafty guitars, the band has been distinguished for its blend of 1960s Brit-invasion sophistication with jagged 1990s alt-rock hooks. Then there’s Amber’s vocals — a rare blend of rock n’ roll sass with the phrasing of a finessed singer.
Twin House bursts open with the band’s first buzz cut, “Offering.” Strangled guitars introduce the song before falling in meticulous line, building tension through chiming guitars meticulously wrapping around a cleverly robotic groove. As the track unfolds, soaring hooks punctuate the verses’ militancy, uniquely evoking the loud/soft dynamics of 1990s alt-rock. Their 2016 debut Twin House was well received drawing local and international critical acclaim.
