Julie Rozansky Biography

Julie Rozansky is a multitalented bassist and singer actively involved in many different niches of the New York music scene. With 20 years of experience, her playing runs the gamut from challenging prog-metal and dynamic theater pieces to folky singer-songwriter, ethereal art rock, and punchy post-glam. Whether playing a support role holding down the root, or an up-front position playing busier lead lines, Julie provides a rock-solid foundation of low-end punch and backing vocal harmonies that give any piece a polished edge. Equally adept at fingerstyle or pick, Julie is right at home in a variety of settings. A native of Washington, D.C., Julie played with prog-metal band Run Silent Run Deep, becoming a fixture on stages in DC and helping them win the Washington Area Music Association Award for Best Modern Rock Recording, with 2006's "These Are My Iron Teeth." In 2008 she moved to Brooklyn where she joined indie rockers The Art of Shooting, and later helped form post-punk outfit Libel. Julie is available for gigs, touring, and recording sessions.
