In the years since its inauguration in 2009, Tramlines has become one of the most exciting festivals in the north. Taking place in Sheffield, Tramlines Festival is made up of both established artists from all areas of the music industry and emerging talent destined for the Main Stage. With all major venues and night clubs also involved, Tramlines provides music and parties all day and night throughout its three days in July. With over 200 artists on the bill every year, Tramlines has seen standout shows from the likes of alt-j, The XX, Echo And The Bunnymen, Roots Manuva, Public Enemy, The Charlatans, Katy B, Neneh Cherry, Buzzcocks, Basement Jaxx and more. Aside from the main festival stages, other local music establishments from all over The Steel City have been involved each year, with The Leadmill, The O2 Academy, The Cathedral, Queens Social Club, The Harley and The University of Sheffield all hosting music through the weekend. Moving into 2017, this format has been changed up a tad, meaning that this year all music will take place across three picturesque parks as organisers look to make use of the city's significant green expanses. After the sun sets and bands have played out the day, Sheffield’s night clubs are alive with electronic music, with the city's warehouse venues and club spaces a key part of what Tramlines has become. Fusion, Foundry, Hope Works, The Night Kitchen and Plug have all played individual parts in the growth of Sheffield’s club scene and all come together to host a number of parties at Tramlines, adding to the event's reputation as a hugely diverse music festival for all music fans of all ages.
