Obituary (US)Obituary is an American death metal band formed in October 1984 in Tampa, Florida. Initially called Executioner, the band changed their name to Xecutioner in 1986 to avoid confusion with the thrash metal band Executioner from Boston, and then changed their name once again to Obituary in 1988. The band`s current lineup consists of vocalist John Tardy, lead guitarist Kenny Andrews, rhythm guitarist Trevor Peres, bassist Terry Butler, and drummer Donald Tardy. Obituary has gone through several lineup changes, with Peres and the Tardy brothers being the only constant members. The band was a fundamental act in the development of death metal music, and is one of the most successful death metal bands of all time. To date, Obituary has released ten studio albums, and with the exception of their 1997–2003 split, they continue to perform live around the world.

Great show opener, it's a shame it had to start so early that some people missed it. I'm glad I didn't.

Obituary NEVER disappoints! Only stopped banging my head between songs! Hanging Fortress and Hate Unbound from Michigan BROUGHT IT, although Exmortus is very talented, they played too long, and a few of their songs droned on and on and on..... My two sons and I came from Detroit, never been there before, restrooms were clean, bar maids were nice. Pretty nice bar / club, I would go back there. Craig from Detroit

Amazing show. From the opening act straight to Obituary. If this show passes through your venue it is a worthwhile event.

All the bands sounded absolutely pristine. I do wish the venue had a bit more area of enclosure because the mosh becomes a huge hole of emptiness and three people throwing punches. I feel more enclosed space would make the mosh a more energetic and less dangerous experience. But I still understand and applaud the venue for having rest areas and good visibility of the stage throughout. Skeletonwitch greatly surprised me and I really hope to see them again!
