Bloody ripper. Was expecting some photos and film clips projected onto screen behind the band. Would go again, 3rd row right up personal like.

It was fantastic. Tex Perkins is all the star I suspected he was from listening to his music from school days, to looking intensely at his presentation on social media during the last week in preparation for seeing him live. Painting him live is what I was preparing for. The dirsy attachment was a mistake. That's me! The second one is the preparatory painting, which I give to the star as a tribute to great work. Tex couldn't take the painting on tje plane, but he took the time to autograph it and thank me, which gets him a distinction for a rock star in my book. If he'd onlyseen me playing sax to the Youtube clip of Better Get A Lawyer, he might have let me come along to the sound check, and we could have joined forces on the 'art/rocknroll against cancer' front. But he's a cool enough dude to remember that's my mission, so next time he hosts a fundraiser, he can get me there and I'll paint 100 Tex Perkins images, and honk out a sax solo to The Honeymoon Is Just Beginning, which will be my version of his song. But the dumb cunt would have to contact me first. I initiated this time. I'm in Tex Perkins Saxual Overture Credit. Let me also say that Murray Peterson was adorable too. He might not be the show pony, but he sure can pull that Coopers Brewery dray all the way to the horse show, if you know what I mean. I'd show you my Tex Perkins painting live at the show, but I was spotted by two lots of Tex adoring fans, one a group from the UK (they love the art/music/live thing), the other a person who remembered me from a eulogy I gave in 2001! He got the painting, as a tribute really, to the friend for whom I had been giving the eulogy. RIP Tim. Is this not one of the weirdest comments you've ever received, Bandsin? I wrote you another one this arvo. A not so nice one, about Scott Bradlee. Watch that one. He steals and he doesn't respect the rock stars whose original work he lifts. Nor does he respect people who suffer from cancer. You, Bandsin, and I are in the same boat here, in promoting live performance. Selling tickets as a way of getting royalties back to the original artists, the people who struggled for their art. Not pricks like Bradlee who make millions out of quirky covers and then tell other artists to fuck off. Seeing gentlemen like Tex and Murray, performers who respect other performers, and who take the time to say thank you, and hearing the quality of the Perkins voice and seeing his energy onstage, confirms, at least to me, that my mission to paint rock stars live and play the songs that made them famous on saxophone, not as some dopey show off wank, but as a way of emphasising how much better the original sounds, and how much cooler it is to see and hear these people live. I also donate as much of anything I make to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, as that is the biggest killer of male rock stars. If you were to find one seriously famous rock star prepared to give what I do a go, we could change the face of the disease. But I'm not waiting for promoters to help me. I'm going to LA to attend the Rock'N'Roll Fantasy Band Camp in 4 weeks time. Then I'll be working on my rockstar interview/portrait sessions, a bit like Anh Do but way better, then the Rolling Stones 'Exhibitionism' mission, and then (ha ha) Woodstock 2019. Bandsin, you are more than welcome to pass this review on. To whomever you please. Give me a rock star who is coming to Adelaide to cover, and I'll show you why I have wasted my Sunday writing to you.
