Samatha is a rising star her unique style and blend is so refreshing in the music industry. She infused her roots with her style vocal blend that covers country bluegrass quick step jazz blues and her fierce guitar is like no other. Her passion shows a must see anytime she’s in town.
Samantha was great. The 3 stars is due to the venue. 40 degrees outside and raining and doors opened an hour late. They blamed it on the band arriving late and some cockamamie excuse that they can’t let people in while the band is doing sound checks. Add to that, The Token’s sound system blows. Feedback and technical problems throughout the show. A premier concert venue? I guess that doesn’t include lighting. Every time Samantha moves away from the mic she was pretty much in darkness. Samantha Fish is Must-See. But not at the Token Lounge.
Samantha Fish and her band have really improved their performance skills and show, they have a great full sound and she has become a talented entertainer. The only thing I was disappointed in was I didn’t recognize any of the songs, and I have all of her records so I must be missing something. But I was very much looking forward to her performing her early bluesy songs that she was so very good at. I would see her again.
A double set, and in heels!!! This woman is the definition of glamorous rock and roll. She blends a perfect mixture of Motown, country, blues, and good old fashioned guitar driven rock and roll. Would see again in a heartbeat!!
She is amazing. What struck me most was her vocal range. I heard hints of Lucinda, Chapin, Emmy Lou. Most impressively, Aretha. Taking over the throne once occupied by Bonnie Raitt. Show was in venue previously a church. The beauty remained but the acoustics was a factor. Hope to see her again.
