Battlecreek ist eine vierköpfige Thrash Metal Band aus dem Chiemgau in Oberbayern.
Ihr Sound ist vom Thrash Metal der 80er Jahr geprägt. Exodus, Testament, Kreator oder Slayer aber auch modernere Bands wie Warbringer oder Gama Bomb, um nur einige zu nennen, zählen zu den Einflüssen der Band.

Nach Ihrer Gründung im Jahre 2004 konnte sich die Band schnell einen Namen in der lokalen Metalszene erarbeiten und viel Live-Erfahrung sammeln.
Mit ihrem 2008 erschienenem 3-Track- Demo DEMOLITION konnte die Reichweite erhöht werden, was schließlich auch zur Teilname am Wacken-Metal-Battle im Jahr 2009 führte. Dort erreichten sie im Deutschlandfinale auf dem 'Rock Harz' Festival den zweiten Platz. Darauf folgten eine Vielzahl von Auftritten in namhaften Clubs und auf Festivals im deutschsprachigen Raum.

Im November 2011 brachte die Band ihren ersten Longplayer mit dem Titel „WAKE THE PLAGUE“ auf den Markt. Die Platte wird im Metal Hammer in der Rubrik "Helden von Morgen" vorgestellt und bekommt positive Kritiken, wie folgende Ausschnitte aus Reviews zeigen:
„Battlecreek bring the tight speed of Gama Bomb and the ferocious bite of Warbringer and combine it into a sonic weapon of monstrous, throat-ripping intensity“ (A new wave of thrash metal)
„(...) wäre "Wake The Plague" mitte der 80er rausgekommen, müsste die Scheibe sich locker mit solchen Klassikern wie "Darkness Descends" (Dark Angel) oder "Game Over" (Nuclear Assault) messen lassen.“ (Rocktimes/ Jens Groh: 8/10 Punkten).

Dem Studio-Album folgend produzierte die Band in Zusammenarbeit mit Thorulf Peterson & Fraindlvision das Musikvideo zum Track 'Psycho Torture'.
Seit ihrem Album "Wake the Plague" hat sich die Band stets weiterentwickelt, ihre technischen Fähigkeiten und ihre Live- Performance ausgebaut. Gitarrist Chriss Meisl hat am Münchner Gitarreninstitut studiert und sich als Gitarrenlehrer auch Beruflich der Musik verschrieben.

2015 wurde im S&C Studio das zweite Studio-Album "HATE INJECTION" eingespielt und am 20.November in Eigenregie veröffentlicht. Dazu produzierte die Band ein sehr aufwendiges "Splatter" Video zum Song 'Kill or be killed'. Dadurch konnte sich das Album sehr schnell Aufmerksamkeit verschaffen. Mit "Violent Creek Records" wurde dann auch ein Label gefunden über das "HATE INJECTION" im Herbst 2016 als Special Edition mit drei Bonustracks neu veröffentlicht wird. Eine kleine Tour zum Re-Release ist für Ende 2016 -Anfang 2017 geplant.

Im METAL HAMMER wird das Album folgendermaßen rezensiert:

With their 2008 recorded Demo "Demolition" Battlecreek established themselves in the European Metal Scene and reached the German Finals of the WACKEN METAL BATTLE in 2009. The 2011 released debut album "Wake the Plague" earned a lot of good reviews in Metal Magazines like "Legacy" or "Rock Hard", and could at least achieve the highly coveted title "Demo of the month" in the German "METAL HAMMER". Since the last 10 years they played a lot of shows with well-known artists like EXODUS, GAMA BOMB, TANKARD, GRAVE DIGGER, CANNIBAL CORPSE and many others.

In 2015 they recorded their new album “HATE INJECTION” and published it at the same time with a videoclip to the song "Kill or be Killed". The release of this logplayer braught them a huge public attention so that they finally could sign with the label VIOLENT CREEK RECORDS, which decided to Re-Release HATE INJECTION as a special edition including three bonus-tracks in autumn 2016!

BATTLECREEK can satisfy with a high range of elements from all over the "Good old Thrash"- universe. With their explosive mixture of stunning high-speed riffs, melodic lead lines, mind-blowing vocals and hammering drums BATTLECREEK will beat your ass back in the 1980´s.
