Aaron Tessis Biography

“From the time I first saw the movie La Bamba at age three, anyone who's ever known me or seen me perform has witnessed my passion for my music. I started writing my own songs at 15, and I perpetually feel as if I’m growing into myself, feeling blessed to have continuously found the words to bring to life the things I’ve wanted to say,” Aaron Tessis says about his evolution as a singer-songwriter. His songs deliver powerful messages about self-assertion, being true to oneself, and doing good unto others.

Whether he is performing to an audience of ten or a thousand, Aaron sings with all his heart and soul as if wearing them on his sleeve. He admits, “I never sing a song the same way twice. It all depends on how I’m feeling at the time.”

Inspired by music icons like Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Elvis, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Michael Jackson and Dave Matthews, Aaron’s music combines several genres, including Rock, Blues, Folk, Soul, Jazz and Pop.

In recent years, finding any excuse to venture into the unknown, Aaron continues to trot the globe in search of new inspiration. "By embracing different world cultures," he says, "I try to capture the essence of a culture's musical origins and values, while sharing anecdotes and life lessons I've picked up along the way. All I can hope is that my music and message touches people to a fraction of the degree I feel the world has touched me."
