Subztain Biography
Biography Subztain
“Subztain” was brought to life in the late summer of 2011 when the band "Subtopia" was forced to change its name due to copyright reasons.
“Subztain” is based in "Upplands Väsby", a few miles north of Stockholm.
We play, angry, clean, dirty and hard rock.
The music we write is based a lot on life experiences, but also things that affect more than just us.
It can be a current news event, or a feeling you can’t get out of your body in any way.
The music is honest and reflects who we are as people.
January 2012. We recorded the debut album ”Conflict Solution" in "Standstraight Studio" in Upplands Väsby, recorded by Chris Snyder who also produced bands as HEAT and Nightwish.
Produced albums with over 20 wins in different award shows such as Hollywood Music Awards etc.
When the album was mixed it was sent off to the prestigious Abbey Road in the UK to be mastered.
In the autumn of 2014, the band reformed, now with Dennis Karhu on drums.
The following year Antz decided to step down from his position (bass) in the band and added Fredrik Isaksson, former metal icon of "Grave" and “Therion".
A new album was recorded and released in 2016.
The album "Brothers By Choice Not By Blood” received a lot of great reviews from webzines, magazines and social media platforms.
The single with the same name has been played over 140 000 times on Spotify since the release.
“Brothers By Choice Not By Blood”, represents hard work, work that never takes time off, never leave and never make time stand still.
We have laughed and cried, it has been taken a toll at our health and could also have cost us our studio since some of our gear caught fire.
The album was recorded by “Subztain” and produced by an amazing group of people who are passionate about the same reasons that the album is all about... Brotherhood!
