Four Lincolns

FOUR LINCOLNS first convened in a basement on the northwest side of Grand Rapids in 1996 and began to cultivate the rootsy rock music they are best known for. Twenty years later, the band still gathers in a basement on the north side of Grand Rapids; older, wiser but still writing rock-n-roll gems. Personally described as a straight up rock band with an Americana tendency, the band has gone through some line-up changes over the years but has kept its central core consisting of Sarah Keen on lead vocals, lead guitarist, Paul Keen, and Charley Van Portfliet on bass. Mike Raaymakers joined the band in 2008 and contributes to the crunchy lead guitar sound that is a cornerstone of the band’s most recent work. Ryan Bovee earned the coveted spot of drummer in 2017. Four Lincolns released a self-titled EP in 2016 which was nominated for three Jammie Awards by local radio station WYCE and won Art Prize’s Best Rock/Blues Song for “80 Years". This was the band's first studio release in 14 years. In 2003, the band released a full length CD, Laxadaisical, which also garnered them much local acclaim.
