Kayla Mims

Contemporary R&B singer-songwriter, Kayla Mims, debuted in 2016 with her single "Again." Born in 1996 in Washington, D.C., she started performing in school plays and musicals before her mother encouraged her to audition for America's Got Talent in 2010. Disappointed, but all the more motivated by the results, she went on to create her own YouTube channel where she posted videos of herself covering popular songs. In 2014, Mims headed to New Orleans where she is currently a student pursuing a degree in Marketing and Music Industry Studies, while still continuing to write and record music.
Influenced by Kehlani, Ariana Grande, Jojo, Chance the Rapper, and Rihanna, Mims continued to hone in on her songwriting skills while performing live shows around New Orleans. Upcoming projects include Mims Music Mondays, where she will post song snippets on her Instagram and official Facebook page and two more singles to be released later in 2017 as a preview to her EP.
