Yaaba Funk In The House! Sat Dec 02 - Time for another burning hot The South London Soul Train multi-floor epic, as your host with the absolute most Jazzheadchronic welcomes one of the hottest afro funk bands in the UK / Europe - the simply afro-licous, positively charged, stage destroying YAABA FUNK [Live], Incognito DJ AJ Kwame plus so much more across 3 floors and 4 rooms at The CLF Art Cafe, Block A, Bussey Building.

The South London Soul Train continuing it's on-going mission to seriously funk up your mind and body and force feed yoh soul with the absolute best of times.

Level 1 - Your host Jazzheadchronic delivering a blistering 3 hr set of eclectic anthemic uplifting funk, soul, rare groove, latin and disco. Seismic joints to make you get down on it and on it and on it. All night long. The Jazzhead joined by special guest DJ AJ Kwame [Incognito DJ's] + one of the Best Afro Funk bands to come outta London in the last decade / Ever. The simply amazing, unstoppable tour de force that are Yaaba Funk. Live!

Founded in 2006, Yaaba Funk have gigged extensively around London, the UK, Europe and Africa. The band building a huge loyal fan base, hooked on Yaabas exuberant, hi-energy live shows, stunning recordings and full on performances that always have the crowd shouting for more, fo sho!

In 2012 Yaaba were privileged to support Seun Kuti with Egypt 80 at one of his rare London gigs and in recent years have performed at the Venice Biennale for Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. Supported Ebo Taylor at the New Empowering Church in Hackney, performed twice at the Africa Oye festival in Liverpool + 2014 saw Yaaba appear on the Radio 3 stage at the WOMAD festival and the release of their brilliant 2nd album “My Vote Dey Count” Be warned, this band are incredible live, so brace yourselves and get ready to truly get some.


Then on level 2 the men with a plan and true selectors collection - Legendary DJ’s Mssrs Snowboy and Perry Louis mine the crates for more epic vintage 45 joints, for an epic journey through the land of the rare groove and nasty funk bump - delivering some of the finest and rarest groove ever etched on Vinyl. Large, loud and very direct to the dance floor.

Level 2 / Room 2: S’all about the Northern Soul of it all. The Legendary Rob Messer & Oscar Romp dropping more heavyweight joints of seismic proportions and watching the sweat fall. Definitely one for the dance floor junkie and retro audio lover.

The South London Soul Train line up completed in The Rye Wax Basement. The Super Soul Bowl. Your hosts, First Word Records and Wah Wah 45 DJs taking you on another global excursion through the planes of World Wide Wonder Funk, Soul, Groove, Disco, Hip Hop Boogie & Beyond. Absolutely Positively Tasty.

As always, all floors taking all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Brass, Breaks, Bop and Hop to Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.

However - Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this ones for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.
