El Cuervo de Poe Biography
ESPAÑOL:
El Cuervo de Poe es una banda de Metal Gótico Alternativo, originaria de Guadalajara Jalisco, México.
La agrupación se formó en mayo del 2004 con Oscar Muro (Batería) y Vicente (Vince) Márquez (Guitarra) como sus iniciadores.
En el 2005 graba su primer material DEMO con Daniella Lazzeri en la voz y David Martínez incorporándose como bajista.
En abril del 2006 ganan el concurso nacional de bandas de "Tokin Records" y en ese mismo año y tras la salida de Daniella, se integra en la voz, la soprano Julia Gaos.
Para Junio del 2007 sale al mercado el disco "Vox Corvus: La Voz del Cuervo" de manera independiente y única para México, sin embargo; por internet el disco está disponible a más países por medios como Itunes.
A finales del 2008 Julia Gaos abandona las filas de El Cuervo de Poe. Y en el 2009 se incorpora a la banda Brenda Gaviño como la voz de la agrupación. En ese mismo año se integra Rick Part como segunda guitarra. y el 4 de diciembre comparten escenario con la banda holandesa Epica (y vuelven a hacerlo en enero 29 del 2011).
En enero del 2010 la agrupación es nominada y resulta GANADORA en la categoría "Mejor banda que canta en Español para los premios FEMALE METAL AWARDS" . En ese mismo año se incorpora a la banda Adán Madrigal en el violín.
Para septiembre del 2011 la banda participa en el compilado de bandas con vocalistas femeninas de la revista francesa "Des filles et des riffs" Vol 2.
En febrero del 2012 comparten escenario con la banda holandesa Within Temptation, y el 13 de este mes sale a la venta y de manera independiente "Ex Libris" el segundo álbum de estudio de la banda.
El disco está disponible de manera digital a través de Itunes, Bandcamp entre otros.
Actualmente y gracias a la distribución de Scarecrow, pueden encontrar el disco en las principales tiendas del país.
La banda también ha participado en la realización de Soundtracks como: "Serial Comic No1. Fijación" (Cortometraje) y "Fausto El Mago Extremo" (Animación).

El Cuervo de Poe is an Alternative Gothic Metal band originated in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The band was initially formed in may, 2004 with Oscar Muro (drums) and Vince Marquez (Guitar) as its founders. In 2005 they recorded what became their first DEMO, with Daniella Lazzeri as the female front voice, and David Martinez on bass.
In april of next year, they won a national band contest competing against 30 bands, and after several changes in the alignment, at the end of the year they started off with the recording of the debut album, with Julia Gaos as the new lead female vocalist.
The band´s debut album was released as an independent album into the market by june 2007, being entitled Vox Corvus: La Voz del Cuervo (Vox Corvus: The Raven´s voice) only in Mexico, however, thanks to the internet, the album was downloaded in several countries around the globe, such as Colombia, Venezuela, U.S. among others.
At 2008 Julia Gaos left the group, and in 2009 they recorded two DEMO songs with Brenda Gaviño as lead singer. Also within this year, Rick Part joins in as a guitarist to complement and aid Vince's guitar, and on the 4th of December, they shared stage with the dutch band Epica, in the Teatro Estudio Cavaret in Guadalajara (and so they shared stage again on january 29th, 2011).
By January, 2010 the band was nominated under the category of "Best band with lyrics in Spanish" for the Female Metal Awards in Spain. Short time after, Adan Madrigal joins the band as the official violinist.
On September, 2011, El Cuervo de Poe takes part on the compilation for female-fronted bands for the french magazine "Des Filles et des riffs", 2nd edition.
On February, 2012, they shared stage, being the opening act for the dutch band Within Temptation, and on the 13th of this very same month, the band officially releases their 2nd discographic material, under the name "Ex Libris", as an independent album.
ECDP's discography is digitally and legally available through Itunes, Bandcamp, among others.
Nowadays, and thanks to Scarecrow's distribution, people may find the band's 2nd album phisically on Mexico's main, biggest music stores.
The band also has participated composing songs for short film soundtracks such as "Serial Comic no.1 Fijacion" and "Fausto, The Extreme Magician" (animated).
